Copper Foil

Used instead of lead came in most lamp shade work, and on many other projects. First you wrap the copper foil around a piece of cut and ground glass. The copper foil is temporarily held in place by its adhesive backing. After you have wrapped and fitted together several pieces, you run a continuous bead of solder along all of the exposed copper. You then turn the work over and repeat the process on the reverse.

Copper Back: All opalescent projects. When used with clear, non-opalescent glass copper patina should be used.
Black Back: When used with clear non-opalescent glass black patina should be used.
Silver Back: When used with clear non-opalescent glass no patina is required.
