This diamond-impregnated core-style drill bit features superior long life and is ideal for drilling in both flat and contoured surfaces. Diamond grit is a full 360-degrees around the the bit. Slots on the side of the bit allow the removal of glass dust from inside the bit. These bits can be used on glass, ceramic wall tile, glass block, glass bottles, and jewelry.

The diameter listed is the size of the hole drilled. However, it is somewhat nominal due to the fact that the diamond grit is plated on the bit. Sometimes the layer is slightly thicker, as it wears, the size gets slightly smaller. Drilling technique can also be a factor, since you are really grinding, not drilling. Final hole size could vary perhaps + or – 1-1.5 mm overall with all the factors considered.

Using these to bore access holes in borosilicate glass pharma vials (don’t ask!). Only have used one so far and they performed extremely well. Bored about 30 vials and no real loss in cutting/boring ability. As most know, a constant low flow of cooling water is a must! Also helps to start the bit at an angle to the surface and slowing bring perpendicular to the piece being drilled/bored. Performs as well, if not better than, the hollow Dremel variety at a huge cost savings. You will not be disappointed with these!!
